Aaron Rand is one of the most successful broadcasters on the scene in English Montreal. He has been at it for more than 30 years, from the time he began as a sports writer on CKGM, to his current gig hosting the afternoon drive show on CJAD. At a time when doomsayers predict the end of traditional media, Aaron is at a career high, having won the Peter Gzowski Award for radio journalism for his coverage of the Lac Megantic disaster. He still believes in the power of talk radio, and thinks its future is bright, despite changing times. In the podcast below, he tells us about how he went from being a kid who would listen to baseball games on the radio to a respected veteran of the scene – and how hard work, believing in yourself, and knowing how to adapt will help you navigate the winds of change.

I was at Radio McGill with Aaron. I also know Paul Zakaib. It was a great party that Aaron organised for Paul’s departure!
